As tax advisers we collect personal data necessary to provide accurate tax advice and compliance services, including identity and contact details (name, address, email, telephone), identifiers (National Insurance number, Unique Taxpayer Reference), financial and tax records (income, bank account and payroll information, tax returns, invoices, expenses), employment and corporate information and any special category data where relevant. 

This information is obtained from you directly and, where authorised, from third parties such as employers, banks, accountants and HM Revenue & Customs ("HMRC"). We use your data to prepare and file tax and customs returns, communicate with HMRC and other authorities, administer your tax affairs, prevent fraud and comply with legal and professional obligations; our lawful bases include performance of a contract, compliance with legal duties and our legitimate interests in providing and improving our services. 

Personal data is retained only for as long as required by statute or to fulfil professional responsibilities and is protected by appropriate technical and organisational measures; we may share information with HMRC, banks, appointed agents and IT service providers where necessary to deliver our services. In this context, we will always advise you when we plan to do so. 

We are subject to legal obligations to disclose information to UK law enforcement agencies.

You have rights to access and rectify your data, request erasure or restriction, object to processing, and obtain data portability. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are dissatisfied; please contact our data protection lead for further information or to exercise your rights.
